I was sure I was going to buy a 55" model but was unsure if it would be Vizio or Samsung. Fortunately Sam's Club had both and the Philips all in a row. The Philips picture beat the Vizio and gave the Samsung a good run for the quality. When I leveraged in the price there was no comparison the Philips won hands down. Took it out of the box and was pleased the stand was already installed and swiveled too! Set up was a snap with HDMI and on screen directions. I thought the picture we had on our rear projection set was good but we are just blown away with the LED/LCD picture, it actually feels like you are in the scene with the players and actors. Warning, watching the food channel and the food shows on travel channel will make you extremely hungry. I don't think the reviewer who gave it 1 star stating that Philips tv's only last 1 year was being fair. Any manufacturer can make a lemon. If it's a concern buy a service contract. My next thing is to get the Netflix up and running so I can... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars HD picture at its best!!!, January 18, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This review is from: Philips 55PFL7705D/F7 55-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LED LCD HDTV with NetTV, Black (Electronics)
I looked for information online for which TV to buy, I also researched which size would best fit our living room. When it first arrived, we were a little overwhelmed by how big the TV is (of course, my daughter was jumping up and down with glee). By the next day we were immersed in the great picture and incredible display. This TV is worth every dollar. Shipping was easy, delivery was easy, and it is so light, I set it up with my wife's help. It is HD clarity at its best. Totally amazing picture!!

1.0 out of 5 stars Don't Do It, January 19, 2011
This review is from: Philips 55PFL7705D/F7 55-Inch 1080p 120 Hz LED LCD HDTV with NetTV, Black (Electronics)
Philips TVs last a year if you're lucky. Worst part is the customer service which basically tells you that you are out of luck because the warranty has expired. I will NEVER buy another Philips product. Don't take my word for it....do a search and you will shocked by all the consumer complaints against Philips.
