Fortunately Sam's Club had both and the Philips all in a row. The Philips picture beat the Vizio and gave the Samsung a good run for the quality. When I leveraged in the price there was no comparison the Philips won hands down. Took it out of the box and was pleased the stand was already installed and swiveled too! Set up was a snap with HDMI and on screen directions. I thought the picture we had on our rear projection set was good but we are just blown away with the LED/LCD picture, it actually feels like you are in the scene with the players and actors. Warning, watching the food channel and the food shows on travel channel will make you extremely hungry. I don't think the reviewer who gave it 1 star stating that Philips tv's only last 1 year was being fair. Any manufacturer can make a lemon. If it's a concern buy a service contract.
